NCC seeking grant applications for 2011 12

Norwell Cultural Council is now accepting grant applications for the 2011-12 grant cycle. Two types of grant applications may be submitted. Local organizations, schools and individuals may submit Local Cultural Council grant applications to help fund community-oriented arts, humanities and interpretive science programs or projects that will take place during the coming year. PASS grant applications may also be submitted by schools and youth groups to fund transportation costs of cultural field trips for school-age children. All grant applications must be received by Saturday, Oct. 15. Applications should be mailed to: Norwell Cultural Council, c/o Norwell Town Hall, 345 Main St., Norwell, MA 02061.
Each year, Norwell Cultural Council receives funding from the Massachusetts Cultural Council to promote access to arts, humanities and interpretive science programs for Norwell residents. Grant recipients for the past year included each of the Norwell Public Schools, Norwell Historical Society, James Library, Norwell Public Library, Norwell Council on Aging, South Shore Natural Science Center, Bay Youth Symphony Orchestra, Choral Arts Society, Duxbury Art Association and North River Arts Society. Awards ranged from $100 to $400. Though the number and size of awards will be more limited this year due to state funding cuts and a complete disbursement this past year of unencumbered funds from previous years, NCC encourages all organizations and individuals to consider applying.
