NCC demands high level committee on Tuesday s violence

Itanagar, Oct 13: The Nyishi Consultative Committee (NCC) today called upon the Arunachal Pradesh government to constitute an high level inquiry committee headed by a sitting judge of a high court to probe the violence occurred during the peaceful rally being carried out by the NCC.
The rally was taken out to clarify the stand on the derogatory remark made by a national daily journalist against Nyishi community.Some people from different places like Nirjuli, Pachin Bridge, Papu Bridge, Itanagar, Naharlogun, Chandanagar, Indira Gandhi Park blocked roads and prevented the participants from attending the meeting of NCC at Indira Gandhi Park, the organisation said in a release.The NCC urged dthe state government to fix responsibility on the rally protestors, especially the leaders, who incited communalism and damaged huge public and private properties in twin capital cities of Itanagar and Naharlogun and adequate compensation be given to the private persons for loss.The NCC condemnded police firing at Indira Gandhi Park and impress upon the government of Arunachal Pradesh to punish the police officials involved in the gruesome firing and punish the guilty, the release added.
